Rewarded to Recycle?

Earth day is over, and yes I was made aware of additional things, small things that we could be doing to reuse and recycle. Rhode Island is a state that has curbside recycling in many communities already. However, the state currently gets 100% of the revenue for our recycling efforts. I think it is time for a change. I too would like to be rewarded for my efforts. My family already sets aside the aluminum cans so we can redeem them for cash, instead of placing them into the bins.

In order to be able to change things, we all need to flood the emails of our representatives requesting change. The Recycle Bank offers you points for the amount you recycle, based on weight. You can redeem your points for free items at the grocery store, online discounts, in-store discounts and more. To email your local officials find your Rhode Island town's home page below and tell them you want the Recycle Bank in your community!

They also have recycle kiosks, they have put on campus's in other cities. You bring your recyclable waste to the kiosks, scan your ID tag, weigh your material and place it in the correct bins. I don't know about you but I would be more than willing to do this!

So send your email to your representative today, and send this blog to every Rhode Islander you know!

I have been looking more into buying organic, and when I saw the prices on some of the products, I turned and ran for the Chip Aisle! Okay, not really but I was thinking it! Huge Dove SkinVitalizer Deal!

After reading a blog from one of my fave bloggers, Bargain Briana I took a chance and decided to go and check my local CVS for the Dove SkinVitalizer. I had my 2/$3.50 off coupons in hand, walked in with some pocket change, and looked. Woo Hoo! They are marked down to $4.00 in Rhode Island as well. Great for me, as I will be adding one of them to a birthday gift basket for my mom. (Her birthday is tomorrow!) You can still print out coupons for this here.
I checked my receipt when I got into my truck, and realized I scored even more. I had 4 coupons at the bottom of my receipt, and one was for $5.00 off $15.00 on any Tresemme! With the sale going on this week, I will be stacking this coupon with some manufacturer's coupons and end up only paying $1.67 for 5 bottles of the Tresemme shampoos and conditioners! (.33 per bottle)

SoBe BOGO Coupon!

I tried the SoBe Lifewater drinks out this past weekend with my daughters. I'm not a big flavored water person, however I will say these drinks were very good. They actually taste a little more like a juice than a water. The girls have been taking them to school each day, so I would say that they have approved them as well. Petsmart Birthday Party

Today from 6 - 8pm Petsmart stores around the country are hosting pet birthday parties. I looked last night, and the Warwick, RI store will be participating in this event. There will be games and prizes. Each dog will receive a goodie bag, and a free digital photo and frame. If you have a pet, this looks like it may be fun to attend. I know I will be going! Maybe I will see you there. Just look for the big dog!

Boon placed 1st in the big dog musical sit game! We ended up getting a gift certificate for $5.00! The goodie bag was a really great bag filled with treats for both cats and dogs, a can of food for each, a puzzle, a bandana, and a coupon book filled with over $125.00 in coupons! Not bad for a fun night out!

Campbell's is offering a $1.00/2 coupon. I have seen these on sale in the last couple of weeks for $1.00 a can for the 'cream of' soups. The Cream of Cheddar is great with chicken. My girls ask for it at least once a week. Click here to print yours.
