Stepping Out Of The Box
I have always been a woman who chose comfort over looks. When I am at home, I am in my sweats, hair up, glasses on, etc. My very good friend told me a while back, I want to see you in something, other than a sweatshirt.
For me, Winter is tough. I absolutely hate to wear coats, infact I avoid it at all costs. I will wear a big bulky sweatshirt, with a cami, and t-shirt underneath... my own version of layering.
This year, I have a goal in place. With losing all of my clothing in the fire we had last year, it's the perfect opportunity to make a change. We will be leaving for Florida Thursday. I don't really think sweats and jeans will cut it. Hmmm, it's time to buy some clothes.
Now, I am a huge fan of Audrey at MomGenerations. I love how she puts together outfits. She has an awesome sense of style. So I have been paying attention lately.
Heading to Florida, we will be off visiting, Sea World, Magic Kingdom, Universal, and probably another park. What does this mean? A LOT of walking. With that, I know that I want, and need to be comfortable. The Nine West Sandals are very comfortable, and stylish. I found these at DSW for less than $40. The top and bottoms are from Old Navy, and will mix nicely with other pieces that I have. The jewelry pieces are both from Kohl's, which is another love of mine... Kohl's fashion jewelry. (This is usually what I spend my Kohl's Cash on!)
Not only is my goal to dress more stylish this year, I also want to be price savvy. My girls pretty much eat up the clothing budget, so being able to buy affordable pieces, and stay within our budget is a must for me. So when I am shopping for my own closet, I have to really look at how many different looks I can get with the minimal amount of pieces. By doing this, I can really stretch the budget.
There we go. No big t-shirts, no bulky shorts, just simple, stylish outfits are in my bag this trip.
