Couponing Class - Week 7
Navigating around the blogosphere, can be a bit overwhelming for those who are new to the couponing world. Trying to figure out what certain abbreviations stand for, and how to read the weekly deal store match ups, can be a little tricky. For the most part, most bloggers have relatively the same or almost the same abbreviations. There are some exceptions, but the variations are relatively close. Take a look at the diagram below.
Here is a comprehensive list of abbreviations that you may come across. Some of these items you may see over and over again, and othes, you may only see on occassion. Some definitions will be the same, as there are some bloggers who will abbreviate the word "coupon" with a "C" others will use "Q". They have the same meaning, bloggers just have different preferences.
2/$5.00 - A sale price, 2 items for $5.00
$2.00/1 - Referring to how much a coupon is for, sometimes it will say $1.00/2 which mean you would need to buy 2 to use the coupon
AC - After Coupon
AR - After Rebate
AY - All You Magazine
BLINKIE - Coupons in a plastic holder that Blink, located near product
BOGO/B1G1 - Buy One Get One or you may sometimes see B1G2 which means you Buy One Get Two, usually free or half price
BTFE - Box Tops For Education Program
C - Coupon
CAT/CATALINA - Coupon machine that prints long thin coupons when you check out. Located next to a register
CNP - Coupon Near Product
CRT - Customer Receipt Tape
DC - Double Coupon (Will Double In Value)
DND - Do Not Double
ECB - Extra Care Bucks (CVS)
ES - Easy Saver Program (Walgreen's)
FAR - Free After Rebate
FIC - Fresh Idea Card (Marsh)
GC - Gift Card
GM - General Mills
HANG TAGS - Coupons that hang on the neck of a product
IP - Internet Printable Coupon You may also see (IPC or IPQ)
K - Kellog's
MFR - Manufacturer
MIR - Mail In Rebate
N - Nabisco
OOP - Out Of Pocket
OOS - Out Of Stock
OYNO - On Your Next Order
P&G - Proctor & Gamble Insert
PEELIE -Coupon on Package
POP - Proof of Purchase
PP - Purchase Price
PSA - Prices Staring At
Q - (another abbreviation) Coupon
RC - Rain Check
RP - Red Plum Insert
RR - Register Rewards(Walgreen's)
SCR - Single Check Rebate (Rite Aid)
SS - Smart Source
STACKING - Term used when you can use a store coupon AND a manufacturer's coupon on the same item.
TC or TQ - Target Coupon
TEARPAD - Block of coupons located near product you can tear off
U - Unilever Insert
WSL - While Supplies Last
YMMV - Your Milage May Vary
