New Feature! "Tips 2 Try Tuesdays"

Okay, so these aren't the "Tips" that I was talking about.  But it's hard to find a picture for this, I'll have to keep looking for one, or design my own.

I am always looking for helpful, cheap, simple tips, and tricks to make my hectic life, somewhat easier.  This does not always happen.  Let's just say some tips and tricks I have tried in the past, have actually taken longer, or cost more than I had anticipated.

Many times I will say, that I come across some pretty wonderful tips, which has caused me to have one of those "lightbulb" moments the other day, and said, "why don't I post these great tips for all my readers to try"?  So if your looking for a great tip or trick, you'll be able to find all my tips and tricks, in a tab at the top of the page.

Today, being the first in this series, I am going to start in the kitchen.  This I find, is where many of us need as much help as we can all get.

♦  Have something that only needs a small amount of lemon juice?  Pierce the lemon with a skewer, and squeeze the required amount out of the small hole, instead of cutting the lemon.  This will help in giving the lemon a slightly longer fridge life, then if you had cut it.

♦  Need to soften butter quickly?  If you forgot to take out the butter dish before dinner, and need it to soften up quick, try heating a small saucepan for a few minutes, and flip it over the butter dish.  The heat will cause the stick of butter to soften enough to be easily spreadable and won't lose its shape.

♦  Cutting down on calories?  Want sour cream?  Try putting Cottage Cheese through a blender!  It can be used in place of mayo, and be flavored with herbs such as chives, and garlic.

♦   Easy Pancake Syrup - You can make syrup for pancakes and waffles out of just about any fruit juice, simply add 2 cups of sugar to 1 cup of fruit juice, stir continually until it boils!  Dole Brand fruit juices work great for this!

Okay, there's my tips for this week.  Do you have some kitchen time saving tips?  Share them, and leave a comment, I may use them in a future post!
