New Year, New House, New Resolutions to Keep
2011....Let's just say for our family, it just couldn't get here soon enough. I know that your not supposed to wish your life away, and you are suppose to treasure the moments you have, the memories you make, and the life you live. 2010, brought us many, many tests. I would like to think that we passed them all, maybe not all with flying colors, but we did pass.
2010, is now the past, put to rest behind us, never to forget, but to learn from. We have in front of us a brand new year to treasure. This year will be different for my family, and maybe yours as well. These tests that we have gone through will make for a much better year to come, and future years to come.
We are setting realistic resolutions for 2011, ones that are reasonable to keep. I think for us, past resolutions never stuck for a multitude of reasons. Reasons like, there's always tomorrow, why bother, it wont make a difference, etc. The difference this year, is that we will be doing ALL of these resolutions as a family. It's true what they say, "We are stronger in numbers..."
Here we go, our New Year's Resolutions for 2011:
1. To differ the cost of the new deck we will be building using points earned from survey sites, and gifts received from birthdays, anniversaries, etc.
(After careful planning, we are now estimating this cost at $800.00) (Update: We have $212.00 towards this project to date.... starting the Resolutions early.)
2. To make as many "Made in the USA" purchases as possible. When we find great Made In The USA products, I will post them.
3. I will not look at the bathroom scale this year. I will however, choose healthier food options, and exercise on a daily basis. By doing so, I should never have to look at the scale again.
Those are our 3 big New Year's resolutions for 2011. As I look at them, I think the hardest will actually be number 2. We'll have to see how the search goes.
We have a few more smaller resolutions, like becoming more organized in 2011, and trying to stick to a menu plan each week, but if there are slip ups in our resolutions, I won't feel too bad if they are slip ups in the smaller resolutions.
How do you think you will do on your New Year's resolutions?
