The Perfect Holiday Card
I never really gave Christmas cards a second thought. We have always sat the kids and dogs down and tried for about an hour or two, to get just one shot where every one's looking the same way, smiling, and eye's open.
This year, I actually stepped it up a notch, and pulled out some holiday decorations early to adorn the mantle, waited for the arrival of Flounder, and made sure the girls had holiday colors on for "comfy" pants.
A great high definition camera, 10 minutes of time, several dog cookies, and about 40 photographs later, I had my choice of about 25 photos that could have all made the holiday card cut.
Well I must have chosen the right one, because this is really the first year that I have had a HUGE response from recipients of this card. Several phone calls, several emails, all letting me know that my card put a smile on their faces when they opened it up.
So whether it's Kwanzaa, Christmas or Hanukkah, take a few minutes prior and set the scene. You'll be surprised at just how many smiles you'll create!
