Can an Old Dog Learn New Tricks?
I am probably going to catch a good tongue lashing for this, but here it goes...
Why yes, yes they can! I have been trying to teach my wonderful mom how to 'CVS' and "Walgreen's' for some time now with no avail. I thought maybe all was lost, and that she would never be able to CVS/Walgreen's properly. I had just about given up all hopes of trying any further attempts at making her listen. The conversation would go something like this:
Me: You need to save more money, you will be glad you did when this place closes it's doors. (Yes, she works with me. We will both be out of a job in several months time.)
Her: I don't have the time or the patience to do what your doing... I can't do that. Your nuts.
Me: Yes you can, and once you start, you want to save more and more.
This has been the last several weeks, of conversations. Needless to say, I come in to work on Monday's bragging about the trips I made, the money I saved, and even the money I made. I think I finally hit a nerve. Today she wrote down everything I said, and what she needed to buy, and coupons to use, that I had given to her.
Well I must say I was not at all expecting the phone call I received this afternoon.
Her: Brandy, I did it, I did it! I even did better than you! This is fun! You need to help me next week too!
Better than me? HA... me thinks me hears a challenge? Just kidding!
Mom, I am very proud! You 'Wagged' Well! Here's to next Sunday's shopping trip!
