The Husband Moments...
Normally I go shopping with my very good friend Donna, who is learning to use coupons to maximize her savings further, she'll get there... Someday! Today... well let me explain first by saying for the last year or so, my husband has had the worst of the worst shifts possible, 5pm to 1am, with a Sunday and Monday off. I on the other hand work 9am to 4pm, with a Saturday and Sunday off.
I have been, what feels like a single mother for the last year. I managed through it, and had to ad texting to our cell phone plan, as that was how we communicated for the most part. Well, now he has gotten the shift that he wants. 2am to 10am. This actually works really great for us, however, I now have to re-acclimate myself to these new hours once again.
Now don't get me wrong, I love my husband, he is my best friend, he makes me laugh, and just a really great guy. Notice I did not use the term perfect. He is a guy's guy, one of those bacholers at heart type. He does not shop... EVER, he will walk over a piece of paper for 3 days and not think twice about it, clothes seem to miss the hamper, he forgets garbage day, even though it is the same day every week, and his infamous phrase to our daughters, "I don't know go ask your mother." Even with all that, I love him, flaws and all. We were definitely meant for each other, no doubts about it.
I had to explain all that so you can picture what my shopping trip went like. I explained to him that I have a few things that I wanted to get at couple of stores. (We have no children tonight, a nice break.) Here I am taking him into Target, Walmart, and Walgreen's. Not even so much as an "Are we through here yet?" Nope. Nothing. He pushed the carriage, he held the coupons, and genuinely got a kick out of watching me put a rude cashier back into her place, when she informed me I had not purchased what was pictured on a coupon, though the coupon stated for ANY Johnson's baby product. Which I clearly showed her the wording, then the product to which it went to. I could see the smirk on his face, all the while I know what he is thinking, "Yeah, take that!"
Once home, he unloaded the car, helped orgainze the stockpile slightly, and began cleaning up the driveway. I think I like this shift he is on even more than he does! I will gladly give the remote control up, if means I can get some more help around the house! That seems like a pretty could trade off.
Tomorrow, he is planning on helping in the yard... I may faint. I will let you know how things work out.

OMG! Too funny! You need to write more posts like this! I laughed so much! That's my husband, to a tee.
That is wonderful and congrats to him getting a better, more workable shift! My DH works 7PM to 7AM and I work 8AM to 5PM (we both have a 45 min to 1hr commute) so I feel your pain!
