You ate what?
My husband and I like watching the Food Network, and we have visited a place or two in the tri-state area because of a review, or made a dish that looked really good on occasion, as I am sure many of you have done as well.
What did we make tonight? Well, I first need to say that we saw this on television a few months ago, and looked at each other and said, "Oh yeah, we gotta try that!" "As gross as it sounds, it is probably really good!" What is it you ask? I will tell you. We made two burgers, and split them four ways so we could all try a piece, and if we didn't like it, we wouldn't waste too much. What type of burgers you ask... The first one was called a "Bypass". It is called that, because it isn't something you would eat every week, unless you wanted to have a bypass! How do you make it? Pretty easy actually:
2 slices of toast
2 slices of cheese
4 slices of bacon
1 hamburg
1 egg over medium
Put it all together, and eat.
This burger was very good. All four of us enjoyed this one.
The second burger is called a Goober Burger. Now many people will say are you crazy? That's gross! What would possess you to put that on a burger? I know what you are all asking, what is a goober burger? (As seen on Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmermen)
Simple, 2 ingredients on a plain burger...
a small dollop of mayo, and peanut butter. Yes peanut butter. Surprisingly, this burger was fantastic. I am not a huge fan of peanut butter, however everyone else in the house is. The girls each asked for an additional goober burger after we made the first one. And I will admit, I did too! I was not expecting it to be as good as it was. I merely thought, yeah it will probably be okay, but nothing too dramatic. I was wrong. this was probably one of the best burgers I had ever had.
So next time you are grilling burgers, and you have peanut butter, go ahead and give it a try. You too will be amazed at how good it really is.
