To My Wonderful Readers...
I don't exactly know where to start, so I am just going to say it bluntly. I will have limited internet access and email access for the next few days, and will be posting when I can. We experienced one of life's terrible tragedies today, a house fire. Thankfully no one was home when it happened, except for the animals, which are all safe and sound. The house is uninhabitable at the moment, so we are staying in a hotel. The Comfort Inn, which happens to be pet friendly, I don't think they had 200 lb Mastiffs in mind when they put this into effect! However, everyone here has been very nice.
Thankfully we have good friends and family to help us out, and I will try to put up some posts here and there, but we will have several things to handle in the next few days that must take some precedence over this website.
The house has quite a bit of smoke and water damage, and it is throughout the house, so there will be some major clean up to take care of. We have lost quite a bit of materialistic items, but again I reiterate, we are all still alive, and that's what is truly important. This all happened within a time span of an hour at most, so again it could have been much, much worse. My husband and I ran out to the store while the girls were at their grampa's house. It's amazing just what less than an hour of fire can do to a house.
A little note on some good news is, due to my couponing, and the "stock room" being downstairs, I was able to put a bag of travel sized, clean, non-soot covered items together in a bag to bring to the hotel! So if you think that Travel size items aren't worth the effort, think again!

Yes, please let us know if you need anything!
Oh Brandy,
Thank Goodness you & your family, including your dog is ok!!
You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Brandy! I'm so sorry! Thank God you are all ok! Please, please let me know if there is anything I can do!
Go through your house and throw away anything that you don't want to pay a restoration crew to clean. We had smoke damage and our insurance company paid a crew to "restore" everything, including old silk plants that I was storing and didn't even want anymore. The cost was astronomical. Those figures followed us when we went to get insurance for our next home. It made things really difficult and would have been better if we had sorted out items before the crew started.
My thoughts are with you and your family!
I am so sorry about the fire and am so thankful you and your family are ok!
I think it is so wonderful how even during something so tragic for you you are in
good spirits and being thankful!
Pray it will all get cleaned up quickly and you can get back to living in your nest!
