Rebuilding the Stockpile - After the Fire

It's been over three months since we had the house fire, that destroyed all of our belongings, stockpile included.  a couple of weeks after the fire, I knew that we would be needing health and beauty items, and I couldn't very well pass up free deals or the dirt cheap deals.  I began once again searching the ads each week, and making daily trips to Walgreen's and CVS for the items I wanted and needed for my family, rolled my Extra Care Bucks, and Register Rewards, and begain building the stockpile back up.  We bought large plastic totes to store them in at the house.  In a short - no- VERY short time, as you can see from the picture we have managed to gain a really great stockpile.  Although I will admit, my thought process on our stockpile, and building it has changed a great deal.

Since moving back into the basement of our house, we are making some changes, and replanning our stockpile room / laundry room.  The old shelves that were in this room were damaged by smoke, and were not coming clean, so we are taking them down, and putting new ones up, this time with a plan!  We had a smaller wall, which as you can see by this picture, we bought a 4'x8' sheet of peg board, which was much cheaper than I thought it would be, less than $20!  Bought some pegs, and started to place all items that could be hung up on this peg board.  I can't tell you how much room this is saving.  And, as you can see by the picture, Razors have been quite the big buy lately!  Yes, the Benedryl Stick pens, Halls Cough Drops, and Reach floss!  All of these items I hav figured out have cost me LESS than $30.00 out of pocket.  Yes you heard correctly, less than $30!

We are still working on the rest of the room, and once it's finished, I will definitely be taking more pictures!

what do you mean your thought process on your stockpile has changed? Can you elaborate more on that?

Pegboard! Brilliant idea! I'm reworking my stockpile area and I might steal that idea!

I'm glad things are looking better for you and your family.
