The Sound Of Hammers

Construction on the house has finally started, we're going on day 5 of demo and construction!  The sound of hammers and saws at 8am would normally drive me insane.  After all the waiting this is music to our ears!  So far, 5 days in, things seem to be going smoothly and at a good pace.  All the tiles are up, the major electrical work is almost completed. Isulation and plasters should be here towards the end of the week, Priming walls and ceilings that didn't come down start today as well.  The inspection of electrical, should be sometime today.  Appliances have been ordered, cabinets have been ordered, and the relief that everything has started is a huge weight lifted off our shoulders.

The only thing that has not gone right, is that our insurance checks have somehow gotten "lost" in the mail, and now have to be re-issued.  Oh well, everything can't go right. Right?

I'm still working on the fire list, and our personal property, reimbursement lists for the adjuster, and now working on getting our business off and running.  We'll be looking at some buildings today, and getting contractual agreements written up, etc.  Add all that to this blog, and getting our receipts submitted, and it just seems like it's none stop all day everyday.  I was thinking maybe it's a good thing that I lost my job back in November.  I don't think I could have done all this, and still worked a 40 hour week.  The more I look at how things happen, the more I realize that everything in deed happens for a reason.

My husband and I needed a fresh start, and that's exactly what we're getting, I wish it could have happened without having a fire, but since it happened this way, we are going to make the best of it.  The more we talk, the more we have realized that we think the fire happened to smack us upside the head and say, "You fools, you're walking around through life worrying about things that don't matter, well here's what does matter!"  I'll keep you all updated as things progress!  And once again thanks so much for all the well wishes!

Oh and as a side note:  My Lymes Disease, seems to be in remission!  I was retested last week, under two separate tests, and they came back negative.  I will have to go back every 3 months to continue to be retested, but things look good, and most all of my joint pain has subsided!  I have been taking a joint supplement which seems to be a big help in that area.
