Family is a Beautiful Thing

I married into such a wonderful family.  They are always there when you are down and out, and I say my prayers every night for each and everyone of them.  My wonderful Brother in law showed up yesterday with a much needed generator.

(Yes, I was taking a picture of the beautiful generator, not my brother in law.)  We are now going on day 4 without power, and have lost all the food from our fridge, and freezer.  We are in the same boat as approximately 140,000 others in Rhode Island, and close to a million others in neighboring states.   The arrival of the generator was a beautiful sight though. 

After the hurricane came and went, we decided to take the girls around to see all that Hurricane Irene left us with. 

Now, we were extremely fortunate that we had no damage to our home.  However, my girlfriend was not so lucky...

We have been over, helping her and her husband as much as we possibly can, trying to help guide them through the red tape, we know all too well from dealing with our house fire last year.  We had so much help from family and friends during our catastrophe last year, that we are only happy that we can now pay it forward, and help someone who needs it.

All State, on the other hand leaves a lot to be desired.  Needless to say they'll be changing insurance companies when all is said and done.
