Homemade Butter Beer (Harry Potter Fan's will Know What This is!)

Harry Potters Butter Beer easy recipe

My girls had their first Butter Beer back in 2011 when we visited Universal Amusement Park in Florida.  Recently they have been craving a Butter Beer, like they had at the park.  Well we did a little digging, and sure enough there's a recipe for it:

Here's what you'll need:

Harry Potters Butter Beer easy recipe

2 liters Cream Soda
Imitation Rum Flavor
Imitation Butter Flavor
1 cup Whipping Cream
1 cup Marshmellow Fluff

First you'll need to add 2 tablespoons of Butter Extract and 2 teaspoons of Rum Extract into the bottle of Cream Soda, SLOWLY rotate the bottle to mix the extracts in.

Secondly add fluff, whipping cream, and 1 teaspoon of Rum Extract in a blender, blend until thoroughly combined.

Fill glasses half full with soda mixture, top off glasses with the blended cream.  Stir slightly, and watch out, as this mixture tends to "grow" in the glass!

Needless to say this was a HUGE success, and now the girls are asking for it on a regular basis!

Pumpkin Smoothies!

I had this super great smoothie last week when I was asked to attend a Shaw's Fall Sampling Event.  Now let me just first say that during the months of September through November December, if it's at all possible, I could very well turn into a pumpkin.

My downfall... The Dunkin Donuts Pumpkin Iced Coffee.  It's a drug...  one where I will actually leave the house, just for the iced coffee.

It's.  Been.  9.  Days.

Since I last visited my Dunkin Donuts.

I was introduced to this incredible Pumpkin Smoothie by Jennifer Shea, the Registered Dietitian for Shaw's.  I think I had three of these sweet treats while at the event.  Needless to say, I have been preparing a blender (or two) every day since then.   So I thought I would share the recipe:

Cinnamon Pumpkin Smoothie

6 ounces Honey Greek Yogurt
1/2 Cup Unsweetened Canned Pumpkin Puree
1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1 - 2 Tablespoon Honey
4 Ice Cubes
( I have also added Silk Milk to thin it out a little.)

Directions:  Place all ingredients in to blender, and puree until smooth.

Today is National Chocolate Milkshake Day

I love finding out the different, odd, cool national "holiday's" days that cities and states have come up with.

Today, as I learned this morning was National Chocolate Milkshake Day.  Don't worry, I didn't know this either.

In honor of National Chocolate Milkshake Day, I thought I would share this great recipe for a Chocolate Milkshake.

4 Scoops Chocolate Ice Cream
Chocolate Syrup
1 Cup Milk
1/4 Cup Cream

Combine all the ingredients together into a blender, and blend.  Pour into large glasses, and serve ice cold.

Okay, so it's not the healthiest, but it sure is delicious!
