Accomplishment

When I look back at this past Spring & Summer, I realize that we have actually accomplished 100% of what we had planned to do this year, as far as home improvement goes. 

We built a shed to store many of those larger yard machine items like a pressure washer, lawn mowers, and weed whackers, etc.  When I saw the bag of 4000 screws, I knew this was going to be longer than a 1 day project.  Getting these gas filled machines out of the basement is a huge relief.  The thought of having another house fire just scares me completely.

To this.

  The deck that we always wanted, and miraculously managed to connect the new deck to the original lower deck.  (All the while painting when weather permitted.)

And finally going from peeling mauve-ish colored house...

 

To finally completing ALL the painting this past weekend.  (and yes, those are our Christmas decorations that were still up this past April!)

As well as redesigning all the front yard garden beds, getting the over grown bushes out of the side yard, and crab grass out from the gardens.  (As well as planting an apple tree, a peach tree, and blueberry bushes, to become a little more self sufficient.)

Looking at it all now, I can honestly say, "Not too shabby, for 2 people who didn't really know what they were doing when they started!" 

Now, the clean up.  The organizing, and planning new renovations for the backyard for next Spring. 

All the while that song from the Lowe's commercial "Don't Stop" playing in my head.
