Brandy's Nook of Books: How To Be A Breadhead
I have to say that in the recent weeks, I have been getting noticed more and more by different PR firms, and have been receiving so many requests to review products, and books, that I literally have a stack of reviews that I have to find an extra two hours a day just to get the ones I have completed.
Now mind you, I love being some of the first to know about gadgets, books, toys etc. and not too often do I come across an item on my desk that I rave about, but How to be a Breadhead was one of those books.
A true beginners guide to baking. I wouldn't consider myself a beginner, and at the same time, I am by no means a master baker. For about a week, I couldn't get past the front cover. I felt like I knew the man on the cover, Fr. Dominic Garramone. Well turns out I did! Okay so I didn't know him personally, but I did know of him. A few years back, he hosted a cooking show on PBS, called "Breaking Bread with Father Dominic".
His instructions on the show were always so easy to understand, as is his book, "How to be a Breadhead". So reading through this book, was simple, and very easy to understand. Loaded with tips and methods, you'll become a breadhead in no time! (What's a Breadhead? A breadhead is a dedicated baker, someone who bakes often, who thinks and dreams about bread
and is not afraid to experiment.)
One of the biggest reasons why I liked this book...No need to have or use a bread machine with this book! Even though I love to bake bread and rolls are haven't been really my favorite things to make. I honestly though you couldn't make a great bread unless you had a bread machine! (okay so maybe I am more of a novice baker than I care to admit! And, when I can find those extra three hours in a day, I am really looking forward to making my own bread!)
